Movies takes a lot of work to make, often
needing multiple takes every scene. It can be a very tiring process that
happens in every film. That is why everything must be in order during a shoot.
But there are some moments that happen completely by accident that become as
iconic as the whole movie itself. Here are 5 of these moments.
1. The Dark
Knight
The hospital scene was a big turning
point in the Dark Knight film. The Joker (Heath Ledger) planted bombs in the
hospital and decides to blow it up as he walks away. The filming location was
rigged with explosives but it was only a one time thing so everything must go
exactly as planned. During the shoot however, one of the explosions didn't set
off as it was supposed to. Heath Ledger noticed this but didn't break
character, instead he tried to give it a shake, hit it a couple of times and
boom. He takes off with a laugh and it became a
cinematic history.
2. Casino Royale
Daniel Craig swims in the beach, then as
Solange got off her horse, he stands up from the water and watches her as he
walks slowly to the shore. This scene in particular completely changed critics'
mind about having a blonde James Bond. He pretty much sealed his role as the
the new secret agent 007. However, the scene wasn't actually on the script. He
was supposed to float off the water while he ogles Solange, but as outdoor
filming locations can be unpredictable sometimes, he hits a sandbank while
swimming. So instead of swimming, he decides to stand up.
3. Zoolander
"Why male models?" Zoolander
asks former hand model JP Dewitt after he already explained the whole plot to
him. This is one of the funniest scenes from the movie that cracked up the
whole audience when it premiered. The truth however, is that this movie moment
happened when Ben Stiller (Zoolander) forgot his next line. David Duchovny (JP)
went on with it and ad-libbed the line "Are you kidding? I just told you
like a minute ago!".
4. Django
Unchained
Everything was going well during the
shoot of Tarantino's Django Unchained. Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio) asks
Django about his relationship with Broomhilda, his slave. He was very menacing
throughout, and at one point smashes a table to make his point. What was
unexpected though was DiCaprio accidentally cuts his hand on the glass of the
table. He was bleeding heavily, but decides to continue his speech. He even
went so far as to smear his blood over the face of Kerry Washington, much to
her disgust.
5. Midnight
Cowboy
Dustin Hoffman and Jon Voight's
characters were supposed to cross the road. Everything was timed perfectly for
the said scene to go off without a hitch. But a taxi driver ignored the light
and almost hit the two actors. Dustin Hoffman ad-libbed the line "I'm
walking here", which has become a part of pop-culture ever since.
